1. Introduction

Locked-INN (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and display name via Firebase Authentication.
• Usage Data: With your permission, we collect app usage statistics (screen time, app launches) from your device to generate analytics. This data is processed locally and optionally synced to your personal Firestore cloud storage.
• Focus Sessions: We store your session duration, mode type, and goals to track progress and enable global rankings.
• Browsing History (opt-in only): If you enable “Track sites in browsers” in Settings, we record the hostnames you visit in supported browsers (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Samsung Internet) along with how long you spend on each. Only the hostname is stored — never the full URL, search query, page title, or content. This data lives only on your device, is never synced to our servers, and is automatically deleted after 30 days. You can disable this at any time in Settings.
• Device Information: We may collect device type and OS version for diagnostic purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide core app functionality (blocking apps, tracking goals, displaying analytics).
• To generate global rankings and badges (display name and focus minutes only).
• To show you the “Top sites today” card in Analytics when browsing history tracking is enabled.
• To improve app performance and user experience.
• We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth (Google).
• Cloud data is stored in Firebase Firestore with security rules restricting access to your own data only.
• Usage stats never leave your device unless you are signed in and the DailyUsageSyncWorker uploads aggregated summaries.
• Browsing history (if enabled) is stored in private app preferences on your device and never transmitted off-device.

5. Your Rights

• You can export your local data from Settings.
• You can clear local data or delete your account permanently at any time from Settings.
• Account deletion removes your Firestore user document and authentication record.
• You can disable browsing history tracking and clear in-flight sessions at any time from Settings.

6. Permissions

Locked-INN requires:

• Accessibility Service: To detect and block distracting apps, and (when opted in) to read the URL bar of supported browsers for the Site Blocker and Top Sites features. We do not read any other content from other apps.
• Usage Stats Access: To read screen time for analytics.
• Notification Policy Access: To enable Do Not Disturb during Monk Mode.
• VPN: To hold messaging-app traffic offline during Monk and Beast modes (the “one tick” feature). The VPN captures only the specific messaging apps you choose, runs only on-device, and routes no traffic through our servers. Locked-INN itself is always excluded so other features keep working.
